This stunning Beni Ourain rug measures 320cm x 210cm, and is carefully handmade, by Farah, a Moroccan Berber tribes woman. The same methods were used by these skilled weavers for thousands of years. The weaving methods implemented by each tribe's women were handed down from one generation to the next by each gifted weaver.

Naturally Sourced

This sumptuous Berber textile is sourced from the Atlas Mountains in Northern Africa. Its geometric motifs are both alluring and simplistic, and the organic material from which it is made ensures one-of-a-kind craftsmanship that cannot be imitated. Much more than random patterns, the shapes and designs woven by indigenous tribe women symbolize many different things, such as prayers, family history, meditation rituals, and fertility rites. Others are symbols for good luck or symbols thought to keep evil away. All rugs are meticulously woven using handspun wool. The weaver’s significant attention to detail is notable in the rug's pattern. We guarantee the authenticity of each rug we sell.

Suitable for all Decors

The basic, neutral colours that Berber rugs are known for are natural shades that comfortably blend with almost any home interior scheme. We visit Morocco several times each year, and select all rugs individually because we are devoted to offering only the best quality products to our customers. Another notable aspect is that our relationship with the Berber tribe members is mutually beneficial. We do business in an ethical way, and strive to maintain good relationships with the Moroccan tribe members.

Berber Rug Care

You will be delighted to learn how little maintenance these light-coloured rugs need. Something that factors into these carpets being easy to clean is lanolin. Naturally found in sheep’s wool, lanolin creates an organic stain barrier. In other words, because of the lanolin, stains can’t set in as fast as they normally would. Just address them as soon as they occur and make sure to use a damp cloth and wipe in the natural direction of the weave. For a deeper clean you should contact a professional rug cleaner.
